With the current boom in the construction industry, it is now estimated that the cost of construction for the fire station has gone up. The additional funds bring the total appropriation to $2,809,000. REQUEST: Prepare an ordinance to appropriate additional funds as follows: Capital Improvement Project-Pahoa Fire Station $800,000.00 Funds for the construction of a new fire station in Pahoa was established in Ordinance No. 03-90 with an appropriation of $1,491,000.00. As the project proceeded the estimated cost of construction went up and an additional $2,009,000.00 (est. total at $3,500,000.00) was included in the Capital Budget for 2005 - 2006. With the current boom in construction, it is now estimated that the cost of construction could be $4,300,000.00. This request of $800,000.00 is to bring the total appropriation amount to $4,300,000.00 for construction.
