Re'. Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the Central Fire Station Roof Repair Project for
$390,000 to the Capital Budget. The Central Fire Station was built in the 1930's and its
roof was only resurtaced once. The funds will be used for the design and the repairing of
the leaking roof and water damaged ceiling.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Hawaii County Fire
Department.

A. REQUEST:
Prepare an ordinance to appropriate funds as follows:
Capital Improvement Project- Central Fire Station Roof Repair $390,000.00
The Central Fire Station was built in the 1930s and over the 60+ years the roof was resurfaced once.
The roof currently leaks in various places, large holes have developed in the ceiling through which streams
of water flow during rainy periods.
This request is to appropriate funds for the actual design and construction/repair work.
