Bruce McClure. amends Chaplcr'~ (County Streets) of the I Iawai'i County Codc.
Bill I ,K amends Chupler by deleting references to Banner Permits. In May 2002. when the
current ~~rrsion of Chapter 22 was adopted, provisions tier Banner Permits were included due to
amhigui~ics in the Sign Codc. On March 1. 2005, the Council adopted a new version of Chapter 3
~ Signs). ~+hich no~~ includes a proaision lur Banner Permits in Section 3-9(a)(I 'therefore. the
oldrr Banner Permit provisions arc no longer needed and should he deleted to avoid duplication and
confusion.
Council Member Ur. I~rcd I lolschuh asked ibr and received clarification that the deletions in
Chnptcr „ (County Streets) base been added to Chapter 3 (Signs), and that there will he no change
inihe permitting process.
lour Commiltcc on Public Works and Intergovcrnmcntal Relations is in accord with the intent and
purpose of Bill I ,K and recommends it pass first reading.
