Research& Development Tourism Promotion
(Filipino Centennial —Filipino Organization of Kona)
These discretionary funds from Council District 8 will be used by the Filipino Organization of
Kona for programs to commemorate the 2006 year-long centennial celebration of the Filipino's
arrival to the Hawaiian Islands. The overall goal is to promote goodwill, tourism and economic
development between Hawaii, the Pacific Basin and Pacific Rim nations.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 154-05
and recommends its adoption.
