Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 157-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 157-05, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 142 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 414, dated August 25, 2005, authorizes the acceptance
of a monetary donation from the Hawai`i Police Athletic Federation.
The Hawai`i Police Athletic Federation has graciously donated $1,000 to the Hawai`i County
Police Department's Hawai`i Isle Police Activities League (HI-PAL) program.
• Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawai`i County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Hawai`i Police Athletic Federation, P.O. Box 22623,
Honolulu, Hawai`i 96823, acknowledging this generous donation.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 157-05
and recommends its adoption.
