Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 143, reports as follows:
Bill No. 143, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 158-05 by Director of Finance William Takaba,
via Communication No. 415, dated August 25, 2005, amends Ordinance No. 05-86, as amended, the
Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2006. The amendment is as follows:

3305.45 State Grant—Kealakekua Bay Road Paving Highway $24,000

020-301-5301.43 Kealakekua Bay Road Paving— State Highway $24,000

The State of Hawai`i Department of Land and Natural Resources' Division of State Parks has
requested the County of Hawaii, Highway Division's assistance to pave Kealakekua Bay Road, also
known as Honaunau Beach Road or Na-po`opo`o Beach Road.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawai`i County Charter,
the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the Kealakekua Bay
Road Paving project.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 143 and
recommends it pass first reading.
