Aloha Councilperson Jacobson,
Bob, I personally am in complete support of the establishment of a sort station in Hilo. Watching our organization's
partnership with the county running the redemption centers for the past 8 months and seeing the incredible
amounts of materials diverted from the landfill, I realize that sorting out other materials at the transfer stations and
a central sort station would divert an even more impressive tonnage from our landfills. Recycling and reuse
should be part of a lifestyle for island populations that we need to return to. Please vote for funding to establish
and run the proposed sort station.
