RESOLUTION AUTIIORI2;ING TI3E ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A TWO 11^~AN
LIF>i:GUA.III.D TOWER TO TIDE DEPARTiVIENT OF PARIS AND RECREATION FOR USE AT
ONEIAIIAI~AIIA I;EACH PARK
WHEREAS, the Aloha Machine and Welding Company has donated a two man stainless steel
lifeguard tower to the Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, the lifeguard tower, with an estimated total value of $30,000, will be used by the East
Hawaii Water Safety Officers for lifeguard surveillance at Onekahakaha Beach Park; and
WIIF.,REAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WI€EREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIIE COUNCIL OF TIIE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of
the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution and a letter of appreciation be sent to
the Mr. Dennis Matsui and Mr. Robert Acacio, Aloha Machine and Welding Company, 153 Maka`ala Street,
Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
