RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $2,000 TO TFIE
HAWAII COUNTY ~'OLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Big Island Candies has donated $2,000 to the Hawaii County Police Department; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used by the Ice Task Force and Vice officers in their methamphetamine
investigations; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ~Y THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts the $2,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Lance B. Duyao, Director of
Retail Operations, Big Island Candies, 585 Hinano Street, Hilo Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous
donation.
