Wt~EREAS, Section 10-1 1 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WFEEREAS, the County is in need of two (2) boom trucks, one for East Hawaii and the other for West Hawaii, to
collect bulky items being deposited at the transfer stations; and
WHEREAS, these boom trucks will have a mechanical hoist which would allow one County worker to safely remove
the items; and
WFEEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a five (5) year contract to lease with purchase options for two (2) boom
trucks for solid waste operations.
NOW, TREREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TFIE COUNCIL OF TFIE COUNTY OF I-IAWAI`I that the Mayor is
hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with purchase options for the acquisition of two (2) boom
trucks for solid waste operations and that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTFPER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to the Mayor's Office and the
Departments of Finance and Environmental Management.
