Re: Donation to the Police Department
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $2,000 from Big Island
Candies, 585 Hinano Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 to the Hawaii County Police
Department. These funds will be used by the ICE Task Force and Vice officers in their
methamphetamine investigations.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating
the $2,000 monetary donation into the Police Department's Criminal Investigation
Division -Juvenile Aid Bureau -Vice Section (CID-JAB-VICE) OCE account.

Big Island Candies is donating funds to be used for the Ice Task Force program. The funds will be used to
further investigations involving controlled substances.

Dear Mr. Duyao:
On behalf of the Hawaii Police Department, I would like to thank Big Island Candies for
their generous donation of $2,000 to be used to combat the crystal methamphetamine
problem on the Big Island.
To accept the donation, we will prepare a resolution that will be forwarded to the Hawaii
County Council. Once the County Council approves the $2,000 donation, the funds will
be placed in our Vice confidential funds account to be used exclusively by the Ice Task
Force and Vice officers in methamphetamine investigations.
The Hawaii Police Department's goal is to fulfill our Vision Statement which states:
