Aloha, Mr. Zkeda and committee members:
It appears that Jacoby International has been granted permission
to control the development of Honokau Harbor and nearby enviror_s.
This is a travesty from which our community will never recover.
However, I have not lost hope that better ways of cc,nductnq
coastal business can be done elsewhere (and maybe, by some
miracle, at Honokohau as well). One possibility is that Counties
be allowed greater say over the planning and use of local harbors
(though I realize this is dependent upon the council members i~rho
reside at the time decisions are made). I believe that it is
reasonable to conduct a study into the feasibility or county
control of harbors.
I hope that you will pass this resolution and begin work on this
important project.
Mahalo for your consideration of my views.
Best regards,
Janice Palma-Glennie y
