Aloha Council Members,
I wish to speak out against Bill 123 (Comm. 362). Changing the District Classification
from Multiple Family Residential (RM-1) to Resort-Hotel V-.75) will add more congestion
to an already over congested area. That in conjunction with the original zoning of 48
units and no commercial to the expanded 67 unit with commercial makes absolutely no
sense.
You must be aware of the severe congestion our highways and streets have now
without the infrastructure to support. Adding this project seems completely ludicrous.
Our infrastructure needs to be updated to compete with what we already have and not
to add to the problem with more units and commercial space.
I have lived in Kailua-Kona for 25 years and have witnessed the growth without the
supplemental infrastructure to go along with the growth. Voting for this Bill is a
complete travesty and will only add to the congestion we already have to deal with on a
daily basis. Pleas help Kailua-Kona and vote NO on Bill 123 (Comm. 362).
