Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 155, reports as,follows:

Bill No. 155, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 172-05 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 454, dated September 21, 2005, amends Ordinance
No. 05-86, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2006. The amendment is as
follows:

The State of l-Iawai`i Department of Human Services has authorized an Adult Chore Services
grant to the Hawaii County for the period 07/01/05 —06/30/06, with the Department of Parks
and Recreation's Coordinated Services for the Elderly Division receiving,this funding via the
v�Office of Aging. This will enable Coordinated Services staff to provide in-home Chore Services
p
(routine housecleaning, laundry, meal preparation, marketing, shopping assistance, personal care,
errand and escort services) to seniors.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County
Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for an Adult
Chore Services grant.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 155 and
recommends it pass first reading.
