A RESOLUTION AMENDING SALARY ORDINANCE NO.OS-88 TO AMEND
THE PAY RATES FOR THE STUDENT INTERN, STUDENT HELPER I,
STUDENT HELPER II, AND SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICES AID
CLASSES OF WORK
WHEREAS, Section 3-13, Hawaii County Charter provides for interim amendments to the
Salary Ordinance to he made by resolution; and
WHERF,AS, Section 7 of Salary Ordinance OS-88 lists the classes of work and compensation
for persons employed by the County other than those whose pay is otherwise provided far; and
WHEREAS, Section 7 of the Salary Ordinance OS-88 lists the Student Intern, Student Helper 1,
and Senior Community Services Aid classes of work with hourly pay rate of $6.25; and
WHEREAS, the hourly pay rate for the Student Helper I[ class of work is $6.75, $.50 more
than that of the Student Helper I hourly pay rate of $6.25; and
WHEREAS. Act 240, Session Laws of Hawaii 2005, amended Section 387-2 Minimum
Wages, Hawaii Revised Statutes by increasing the State of Hawaii"s minimum hourly wage from
X625 to $6.75 beginning January 1, 2006; and to $7 25 beginning January 1, 2007.

HAWAI'1 that Section 7.U1 of Salary Ordinance No. 05-88 he amended as follows:
