Re: Resolution for amulti-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for one (1) copier for the Department of Finance Purchasing Division. The current
copier, which is on a month to month maintenance contract, has been very problematic
the past few months and obtaining a lease on a more technically advanced copier would
be more cost effective, eliminate down time, and increase office productivity.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Finance.

A REQUEST:
To enter into afive-year lease agreement for a new laser print engine multifunction device (copier) to be
located at the Finance Purchasing Division, 25 Aupuni Street, Room 118, Hilo, Hawaii.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The current copier is 6-1/2 years old and service calls for repairs have increased considerably over the last
12 months. In the last 6 months, we placed 6 service/repair calls and each time the machine was out of
service for approximately two or more days, with no available loaners. Getting a new, more technically
advanced copier would eliminate down time and increase staff productivity.
