SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
HUALILILI STREET: Proposed no parking on pavement
We received a request to prohibit parking along Hualilili Street because large delivery vehicles park along the
roadway restricting through traffic and sight distance. Rather than a "no parking at anytime zone", we feel that
a "no parking on pavement zone" would be more appropriate as there is a small shoulder area adjacent to the
7-1 1 store, which can be used for deliveries.
We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-279, Schedule 27 (Parking
on pavement prohibited at all times) under (c) Hilo be amended as described in the attached drafr for an
ordinance.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you have any
