Re Communication No. 455-2, the Evaluation Task Fome (Testimony)
Aloha, Chairman Higa,
I would urge you to have full and open public discussion about the plans for
committee reorganization before deciding whether to accept the Task Force's
recommendation. The public needs to understand how such a reorganization will
Help the Council achieve its purpose in a more effective, efficient manner.
In seeing the scope of some of the new committees, i have concerns that Chet'
might be so large as to be unwieldy, and unmanageable Is it a good idea. to
create such large areas of responsibility, and place it in the hands of so fe~~i?
Might it make getting the job done more d~cult? 1 do not want to see the
business of the Council go off track by this mid-session reorganization- A5 yeu
know, any change is disruptive, and the Council is working on so many issues-I
urge caution and thorough review of the benefits of such a change.
