Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 180-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 180-05, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 469, dated September 30, 2005, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Kanoelani
Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.
The Kanoelani Chapter of the American Business Women's Association has graciously donated
150 feet of rescue rope, a Pelican HeadsUp Lite, and a CMC Rescue Radio Harness to the
Hawaii County Fire Department's Waimea Fire Station. The value of this donation is estimated
at $250.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-] 2, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Ms. Sharon Gilbert, President, Kanoelani Chapter,
American Business Women's Association, P.O. Box 1286, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743,
acknowledging this generous donation.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 180-OS
and recommends its adoption.
