Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 182-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 182-05, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 1G0 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 471, dated September 30, 2005, authorizes the
acceptance of a donation from Big Island Candies.
Big Island Candies has graciously donated $2,000 to the Hawaii County POlice Department,
which will be used by the Ice Task Force and Vice Officers in their methamphetamine
investigations.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Mr. Lance B. Duyao, Director of Retail Operations,
Big Island Candies, 585 Hinano Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous
donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 182-OS
and recommends its adoption.
