Ra Comm. 510 APPOINTMENT OF GARY YOSHIYAMA TO THE
HAWAPI COUNTY LIQUOR ADJUDICATION BOARD
I am writing to support Mr. Yoshiyama's appointment to the Liquor Control
Adjudication Board.
I worked with Gary Yoshiyama for twenty-four years. [have known him for
twenty-seven years. Gary is fair, honest, level-headed, and acts from a personal
philosophy of the highest integrity. As the Division Chief for the Hawaii Government
Employees Association, Gary earned the respect of many sectors of our community. He
was actively involved in the: Workforce Development Board, the Hawaii Island United
Way, the Relay for Life, the Hawaii County Reapportionment Commission, and the
Hawaii County Liquor Control Commission, to name a few.
I am always honored to work with Gary on any project he undertakes. I know he
will give it his all and he will do everything he can to insure a successful outcome. The
"Tribute to Patsy Mink" held at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in October 2002 is
just one of many examples of Gary's abilities.
I am confident that Gary will look out for the interests of the citizens of Hawaii
County. [ am certain that he will not allow the influence of special interests or self
interests to affect his deci.tiions.
