Re: Acceptance of Donations
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which authorizes
the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal property, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code, which states that any
donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance
shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we request the Council's approval of the
following donations:
A Nautilus Weight Training Unit (total estimated value of $900) to the Hawaii County Fire
Department, for use at the Kailua-Kona Fire Station for the firefighters' fitness program, by
Alton & Pam Kajikawa, P.O. Box 1311, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745.
Ten (10) pull buoys and ten (10) pairs of goggles (total estimated value of $208) to the
Department of Parks 8 Recreation, to be used by the Novice Swim Team at the Kona
Community Aquatic Center for swim training, by the Presley Galariza, 73-4190 Malino Place,
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donors.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.
