19VHFR~A~S, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be
approved by resolution; and
P~'lfH~R~,~AS, the County of Halvai`i wishes to enter into amulti-year lease agreement for five (5) years for
two (2) copiers for the Office of the °rosecuting Attorney's Hilo office; and
10VI-fERf=AS, due to the recent implementation of the Judiciary's new computer system, there has been a
tremendous increase in the output of printed material which places a higher demand on the current equipment
and staff resources; and
10VF8EREAS, the Hilo office is seeking to replace their two (2) copiers, which are on month to month
agreements and have been malfunctioning more frequently lately, as it will save a considerable amount of staff
time, will greatly irriprove office efficiency and productivity, and will be a more cost effective solution.
NOW, THER~F®RE, 13E IT R~SOLVEIa BY THE COUNCIL. OF THE COUNTY OF HA0110AI`I:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement for two
(2) copiers for the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
