RE: Honoka`a, Konawaena and Laupahoehoe Swimming Pool Repairs
Enclosed is a resolution requesting the State Legislature to appropriate $1,500,000 for repairs to the
Konawaena Swimming Pool, $1,000,000 for repairs to the Laupahoehoe Swimming Pool and
$4,000,000 for the replacement of the Honoka`a Swimming Pool.

RE: Resolution No. 221-05 :Regarding the County's request that the State of Hawaii
appropriate funds for required repairs to the Konawaena and Laupahoeohoe Swimming
pools and the replacement of the Honoka`a Swimming Pool.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this
matter, timely approval is crucial [t is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the
matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance Committee
for placement on its future agenda.
