Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 170, reports as follows:
Bill No. 170, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 386,
dated October 10, 2003, amends Chapter 19, Hawai`i County Code 1983 (1995 Edition), Real
Property Taxes, by realigning water tank exemptions.
The purpose of this measure is to clarify Section 19-54, water tank exemption, by removing it
from Article 7, tax map; valuations, and placing it in Article 10, exemptions.
.Originally heard on November 4, 2003, this measure was deferred due to the large number of
real property tax amendments presented and to give the Administration time to gather more
information.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 170 and
recommends it pass first reading.
