Subject: Retain Bob Jacobson and Pete Hoffmann in Their Chairships
Aloha Chairman Higa,
I would like to support Bob Jacobson who is the current Chair of the Environmental Management Committee. Bob has
done an outstanding job as Chair. He has a proven track record of accomplishments and he needs to remain as the
Committee's Chair in order to continue working with local, State and Federal agencies and residents of the Big Island to
protect our threatened natural resources. Bob has worked tirelessly side-by-side with community members to better their
neighborhoods through park development and open space preservation. As Chair of the Environmental Management
Committee, Bob is an effective facilitator because he has been able to bring diverse groups and people with a variety of
opinions, together in an issues-based approach to problem solving.
I would also like to voice my support of Pete Hoffmann who is the Co-Chair of the Planning Committee. Pete, too, has
been an effective advocate of many of us who would like to see controlled and sensible growth on the Big Island without
irreversibly harming our many unique natural resources.
Please, Chairman Higa, do NOT allow Bob Jacobson and Pete Hoffmann to be replaced in their roles as Committee Chair
and Co-Chair of their respective committees.
