Subject: Council Resolution 207-05 regarding Committee Chairs
Aloha, Stacy,
You probably can figure out I am mystified by your Resolution moving Council Chairmanships around.
[t seems to do absolutely nothing to conduct County affairs more efficiently.
'The Planning Committee, of which you are a member, is more effective than ever. It is beginning to be
more assertive in obtaining needed incremental infrastructure with some developments and is actively
working to promote the Community Planning Process.
To not only take Pete out of the role of Co-Chair of the Planning Committee, but to keep him out of a
leadership on any Standing Committee seems nothing but "Eastside-Westside" politics. I deplore
Eastside-Westside politics. We gotta get together, not apart.
This leaves Pete as the only Council Member without a Committee leadership role. Now that has to be a
boldface purely personal-political move!
And on Bob Jacobson, so what if he supports the administration'? Sometimes it deserves Council
support. Harry's administration would probably get better if it got more support and less resistance from
the Council.
[f there is another side to this, I really want to hear it. I do listen, even if you think [don't.
I'll be there videoconferencing with you on Tuesday. I will be testifying. I know others are coming too.
Hopefully you will hear our message.
