change the designations of the Chair and Vice Chair of certain Council Committees.}
To Members of the Council:
Although I have not studied the facts and details behind these proposals. nor am I deeply informed about the ins
and outs in regards to them, I do have a sense, as I have watched the changes and developments on this island
over the nearly 20 years that I have been here. I have witnessed the slings and arrows of our politics. of the
decisions made and not made, and of the real needs filled and unfilled of those living here.
And I am here to testify that I would like our council members Pete Hoffman and Bob Jacobson to stay in
the positions they now hold. I don't see Angel Pilago's name here and I know there was a push to remove
him. I would also like him to remain in the capacity to which he was elected. These members have been
associated with making good changes and choices here; with having a heart and caring about the quality
of life here and taking action with this in mind, preserving and improving our very sacred environment.
This council was chosen with high hopes I, for one and I know I'm not alone in this, felt that we finally had a group
who would take action on our behalf which is the whole purpose of electing council members. our
representatives. People with vision experience, compassion, common sense, and fire in their veins_ .the ability to
take action and the actions to put things nght for the community, and specially the community of West Hawaii.
All of this in-fighting and inner politicking has been a huge disappointment on so many levels.
We are Ilwng (n a very special time on earth Look around you We live with more humanity and
more Inhumanity than ever before. What does one choose? Ii Is up to the indiv(dual to make his/'her choice on a
daily basis,
Walk upon the road with good consaence, where you can hold your head high and know that by your presence,
you have made things better here.
