Testimony in opposition to 207-05:
Unless I am mistaken, some of you folks have not yet com~~eted a
year in office. For the others, you haven't completed a yeaF~ of this
council term. You have already changed things around twice since
taking the latest oath of office. Now, the issue arises again.
I fail to see how continuai~y making changes does anythinc, except
weaken the perception that the Council is working for the public.
Instead it has become a game of manipulatior, and control.
This is not the purpose for which you have been elected. The guiding
credo to all should be to act in the best interest of the citizens ar~d
environs of the County of !-fawaii.
What we see is an unwillingness to actin the best interest ~f the
public. The continuing turmoil puts council personalities be`cre public
business. This game of rr~usica! chairs should end and the courcil
should buckle down and ~evork on the truly pressing needs facing
Hawaii County.
You folks need to work together, and prove that you can.
Otherwise, how can we trust you to work with us. the public?
