I do not support Resolution 207-t)5 re. committee chairs and vice chairs.l believe
EJIr. Higa wants to reshuffle leaders because they're doing theirjob too ~!vell.
i support Bob Jacobson :o continue as chair of the Environmental Management
Committee. ~ support Pe'.e Hoffman and Angel Pilago to continue as co-chairs 61`
the Planning Committee
i'~~e known Bob for abou 20 years. I know he is totally dedicated to protecting the
!nterests of the people a id the aina. He has proved himself to be a wise, strong,
and effective ad~rocate. ""his is exactly what we need for the treasure we are
entrusted with: a unique and beautiful island. Bob has helped ensure that open
spaces will be preserved for our children. He has helped ensure fundirg for the
sort stati:~n. He has help~rd implement an open method to obtain the best contract
for solid ~nraste technolocy
Stacy Higa says Bob is ;,lased towards Barbara Beil The only bias, v?hich Bob
and Barbara share, is a host positive one protecting the people and the aina.
,fin all issues, ! belreve F•ob does everything humanl!,, possible to act in a
~espe~.,ffrd and professia gal manner Bob deserves tc remain as chair., and we
need him as chair, so he can build on his experiencr~ andronnecfions to move
forward tivith the ~n~~ork ot.r ialtind needs>.
Re the Planning Comnnttee, Pcae Hoffman says that he and Angel Pilago, and
their staff, work well together Se it appears Stacy Higa's stated concerns about
difficulties between the two are unfounded. With the current real estate and
building frenzy, the Planning (:ommittee can only benefit from two co-chairs who
ti~,~ork ~,ve+I together
Mr. Higa• I am concerne 1 about where your interest hes. Your interest appears to
be promoting short-sighted business and financial interests at the expense of the
Fong-terra health of the t:,eopie and the aina. That was my conclusion after you
initiated the Lary Capel as report. Thc~ report, which cost taxpayers thousands of
dollars, contained many errors. ~t was unprofessionally done with an obvious bias
against :ecyciin=~_ i assume. isr t°iis leader reshuffle. that your interests are the
same
urge the Council to suK~port Bot~ Jacobson and Pete Hoffman, so they can
continue to speak far th+ growing number of people ,echo honor and treasure this
isianc. ~1
