RESOLUTION NO. 227 U5
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE OF
TWO COPIERS FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease
or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal
year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the current 5900 model copier was purchased approximately five (5)
years ago, has numerous breakdowns, the spare parts are not always available in
Honolulu, the machine is obsolete, and the down time exceeds the machine's efficiency;
and
WHEREAS, the County Clerk's Reprographic account for the current fiscal year
contains sufficient appropriations for the lease of two new machines; and
WHEREAS, since there are copy machines that perform at a higher capacity,
greater efficiency and greater capability, that are not on the bid list, the Clerk's Office
will seek to procure the copy machines through a separate bidding process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year
lease agreement for two (2) copiers for the Office of the County
Clerk-Reprographic Division.
2. Those sufficient funds are budgeted in future fiscal years to cover
the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the
agreement.
