Funds will be transferred from said Contingency Relief Account to the Hawaii County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for eventual transmittal to the YWCA. District 1 RE: Transfer of Discretionary Funds for Fiscal Year 2005-2006 I am requesting your concurrence to transfer the following finding amount(s) for the listed project(s) to the specified account(s): FUNDING AMOUNT PROJECT DESCRIPTION ACCOUNT NO. 1. $10,000 Office of the Prosecuting Attorney 010.271.5271.02.115 Emergency Funding Hamakua Youth Center (Program) YWCA (Agency/Vendor) If approved, this funding would be utilized as emergency fiscal support for the Hamakua Youth Center in Honoka`a, a program sponsored and managed by the Young Women's Christian Association of Hawaii Island (YWCA). The Hamakua Youth Center services approximately 50 young men and women predominantly aged 13-17, although they will not turn away children that are younger, providing a safe and structured environment for youth in Honoka`a, with the aim of preventing drug use, unsafe sexual practices and overall juvenile delinquency. Higa, Chair Hawaii County Council 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawaii 96720 RE: Resolution No. 231-06 :Regarding transfer of Contingency Relief Account Monies from District 1 Account to the Hawaii County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to be expended by the Young Women's Christian Association of Hawaii Island as emergency funding to keep the Hamakua Youth Center open for the youth of l lonoka`a. Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the Cowtty of Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is cnicial. [t is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance Committee for placement on its future agenda.
