Your Committee on Finance, to which was retcrred Resolution No. 211-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 211-05, transmitted ,jointly with Bill No. 186 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 556, dated November 14, 2005, authorizes the Office
of the Mayor Fo enter into an agreement with Fhc State of Hawaii lleparhnent of Transportation
for a Data grant.
The State of Hawaii Department of'Cransportation Public Affairs -Safe Community Program,
has authorized a $30,000 Data Grant to the Hawaii County Police Department, which will be
used to continue their efforts to establish a statewide traftic data system and to ensure
compliance with national standards.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai"i Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent
of the Council to enter into agreements with federal or state governments respecting action to be
taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or
other assistance in connection with projects being or to he undertaken pursuant to those powers.
I~here was no discussion nn this measw~e.
Your Commmittee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 21 1-OS
and recommends its adoptioe.
