Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 213-05, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 213-05, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 560, dated November 14, 2005, amend Resolution No. 97-OS by increasing the square
footage of Office Space in the Department of Research and Development's Kona Office.
On June 1, 2005, the County Council adopted Resolution No. 97-OS that authorized the payment
of funds of a later fiscal year and more than one fiscal year for the multi-year lease of office
space for the Department of Reseazch and Development's Kona Office at Lanihau Professional
Building, Room 2001 in Building LC, located at 75-5591 Palani Road, in Kona. Since that time,
an additiona1200 squaze feet of adjacent office space have become available and the Department
of Research and Development wishes to include it as part of its total office space.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 244-02
and recommends its adoption.
