SUBJECT: Notification of Tip Fee Waivers for Calendar Year 2005
Dear Chairman Higa and Council Members,
In accordance with HCC Chapter 20, Article Section 4, 20-46(d): "The mayor may waive solid
waste disposal fees when it is in the best interest of the County. Fees may be waived for one-time
events for community organizations, non-profit organizations, or private property owners who
are remediating illegal dump sites which were not of their creation. The Mayor will give notice
to the Council when the tip fee is waived", tip fees were waived for the following projects:
King's Landing- Puumaile 8/11/05 to 8/23/05 $32,019.50 Total Tonnage 440.33
Spec. Handling $ 3,400.00
Honl's Beach Park 9/23/05 to 9/24/05 $ 2,503.80 Total Tonnage 38.52
Waivers for both of these clean-up projects were requested by County departments.
