RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $500 TO THE
HAWAII COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Firefighters Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization whose mission
is to help people affected by fires or organizations that help in fire prevention and response, has donated $500
to the Hawaii County Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, this donation will be used in the Fire Department's training and public education programs;
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12. of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts the $500.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to the Firefighters Charitable
Foundation, 105 Franklin Street, Suite 17, Westerly, Rhode Island 02891, acknowledging this donation.
