SIJBJEC'T: Amendment to Ordinance No. OS-87, as amended, Relating to Public
Improvements and Financing thereof for Fiscal Year July 1, 2005 to
June 30, 2006 (Kahuku Park Improvements)
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending Ordinance No. OS-87, as amended, the Public
Improvements and Financing Budget, which appropriates $40,000 for Kahuku Park
Cmprovements.
Specitlc improvements to be funded by this bill include the Following:
1. A community walking path (Life Walk);
2. Retaining rock walls at the soccer field, swing sets, and pavilion area, for erosion
prevention and public safety; and
3. Metal seats in the swing set area, for parents to sit on while supervising children playing
on the swings.

Dear Mayor Kim:
Enclosed for your review and recommendation is a bill amending Ordinance No. OS-87, the
Capital Improvement and Financing Budget by appropriating $40,000 to fund Kahuku Park
improvements.
These improvements are part of a broader Kahuku Park Master Plan being developed with
community leadership (Friends of Kahuku Park) and the support of other organizations,
including the Rural Community Assistance Corporation.
Specific improvements to be funded by this bill include the. following:
] . A community walking path (Life Walk);
2. Retaining rock walls at the soccer field, swing sets, and pavilion area, for erosion
prevention and public safety; and
3. Metal seats in the swing set azea, fox parents to sit on while supervising children playing
nn the swings.
As per Article 10, Section 10-6 of the Hawaii County Char[er, your recommendations to the
proposed amendment will be greatly appreciated.
