Re: Fire Department Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of $500 from the Firefighters
Charitable Foundation (FCF), 105 Franklin Street, Suite 17, Westerly, Rhode Island
02891. The FCF is a nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to help people
affected by fires or organizations that help in fire prevention and response. These funds
will be used in the Fire Department's training and public education programs.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating
the $500 monetary donation into the Fire Department's Fire Prevention OCE account.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Firefighters Charitable Foundation (FCF), aAon-profit charitable organization, has donated
$500 to the Hawaii County Fire Department for use in its training and public education programs.
The mission of FCF is to provide direct aid and funding to victims of fire and disaster. A
component of this is the support of outreach programs for fire safety and first aid education.
This donation was not solicited by the department, but is nevertheless, most welcome. When
contacted, the representative of FCF stated that she went to the County's web site and was
impressed with the amount of first responder training being conducted here and wanted to help.
