Re: Resolution No. 233-06 (Establishing a Temporary Ad Hoc Fact-Finding
Committee to Review the proposal that the County take over operation of
small boat harbors and boating facilities on Hawaii.)
Hawaii County Council Meeting: January 5, 2006
Mr Chair and members of the Council
I strongly support and urge the passage of this resolution and the
creation of this committee so the County Council and Executive Branches
can determine all of the parameters and the best course of action in
regard to the take-over offer that has been made by the DLNR.
I also support this bill as an important first step in the process of
creating apublic/private management partnership between the boating
and ocean recreation communities on this island and the County.
