CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA REFERRALS Comm. 594: REPORT OF THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE FLEET IMPLEMENTA'T'ION WORKING GROUP (regarding transition from subsidized police vehicles to a County-owned fleet) From Police Fleet Implementation Working Group Chair Dwayne Miyashiro, dated December 8, 2005, transmitting the above report pursuant to Resolution 224-04, which requested a written implementation plan by January 2, 2006. The report recommends a phase-in of a County-owned police fleet of 369 vehicles over afive-year period. This plan allows flexibility to validate the cost and operations assumptions made in developing the plan, and to refine the process based on a yearly assessment. Comm. 624: RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE (Res. 237-06) DEPARTMENT TO INCREASE ENFORCEMENT OF TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS WITHIN THE HAWAIIAN PARADISE PARK SUBDIVISION From Councilmember Gary Safarik ,dated December 29, 2005, transmitting the above resolution. Those testifying by videoconference from the Kona or Waimea Council Offices should bring one copy of the testimony. Those persons unable to testify in person or by videoconference may submit testimony (1) by mail to the County Clerk's Office in Hilo at the above address, (2) by facsimile to (808) 961-8912, or (3) by e-mail to cow~ciltestimony(n~co.hawaii.hi.us. Copies will be made and distributed at the meeting when transmitted in a timely manner. In any case, both oral and written testimony will be made a part of the public record. Notice to Lobbyists: If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five days of becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3(b), IIawai`i County Code}. A lobbyist means "any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials." {Article I5, Section 2-91.3(a)(6), Iiawai`i County Code}.
