Dear Chairman Higa and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed Julia A. Staten of Council District 7
to the County of Hawaii Mayor's Committee on People With Disabilities.
Ms. Staten is a 17-year resident of Hawaii. She is a retired APRN, with 40 years of
experience working in the area of mental illness and substance abuse. From 1998 to
2001, she worked as an APRN at Kona Hospital, and prior to that was the Supervisory
RN for Interim Healthcare. Ms. Staten states that she is not affiliated with any political
party. She will replace Elizabeth Mason, who resigned, and will serve a term to expire
on December 31, 2008.
