A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) ANI) CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has requested funding to purchase
materials sufficient to construct four (4) baseball dugouts, two (2) at Honoka`a Baseball Field and
two (2) at Pa`auilo Baseball Field and materials to provide fencing and a backstop for Pa`auilo
Baseball Field; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has entered into agreement with the
Hamakua Little League that all labor and equipment required to install dugouts and fencing will be
provided by Hamakua Little League; and
WHEREAS, the Hamakua Little League is avolunteer-driven youth sports organization that
has expanded from 12 players to nearly 120 players in the past four yeazs; and
WHEREAS, on June 29, 2006 the Hawaii District 4 All-Star Tournament will be held at
Honoka`a Baseball Field; and
WHEREAS, the Hamakua Little League sponsors a tournament in March 2006 at Pa`auilo
Baseball Field with teams from Kohala, Waimea and Honoka`a participating; and
WHEREAS. both fields see significant usage, from children as young as five-years-old up to
16-years-old as well as Men's Softball Leagues, Girl's Softball games and the Honoka`a .lunior
Varsity Baseball team.
NOW, THEREFORE, BF, IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

CREDITED TO:
010.500.5503.39 Department of Parks and Recreation- $14,500.00
