RESOLUTION NO. 247 J6
RESOLUTION CHANGING TIME ELEMENT OF AN EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT II
(2/5T) TO HALF TIME
WHEREAS, Position no. 4084, an Executive Assistant II (2/5T) position within the Office of
Management, is responsible for keeping the public informed about county government and
community activities through the effective use of the public media; and
WHEREAS, the person in this position plans, organizE;s, videotapes, edits, and distributes a
weekly television show, "What's Up In Hawaii County", that includes features on current County
events and projects, information on the availability of County jobs, and other items of community
interest; and
WHEREAS, another duty of this position, besides keeping abreast of community events, is
attending and videotaping various County-sponsored and community events that are to be televised
weekly; and
WHEREAS, it now takes approximately 20 hours per week, comparable to a half time position,
to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of this position; and
WHEREAS, increasing the time element of this position from 2/5 time to half time will fairly
compensate the incumbent for his work required and performed; and
WHEREAS, there will be sufficient funds available in the Office of Management's Regular
Salaries and Wages account (010-111.5111.01-011).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that Position No. 4084, Executive Assistant II (2/5T), EM-03, be changed to half time.
B~ IT' FURTHER ~dESOLVEU that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Office of
Management, Finance, and Civil Service.
