Higa, Chairperson and Members of the Hawaii County Council Hawaii County Council 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Re: Operating Budget The State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General has authorized a $82,600 Non-Support Prosecution Grant to the Hawaii Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. These funds, derived from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, will be used tp initiate investigation and prosecution of individuals who are persistently non-compliant of child support orders and with an emphasis on individuals with "off the books" income who evade their responsibility to support their children. Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $82,600 grant.
