Legislative Program
Zn response to Communication 500: Hawaii County Council's 1996
State Legislative Program, here are my submissions for the
Council's 1998 Legislative Package.
1998 LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM TARGET PRIORITIES:
1. Privatization; support Chapter 42 contracting and
managed competition.
2. Retain the Transient Accomodation Tax at current
level funding.
3. Improve government efficiency/performance
(outcome based).
4. Retain funding levels for Purchases of Services.
5. Exempt County purchases from General Excise Tax.
CAPITOL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT DISTRICT 8 PRIORITIES:
Amount of State matching Funds
1. Palani Road Safety Improvements ($1,500,000).
2. Kona Pool Second Phase construction ($500,000)
3. Municipal Parking Garage in Kailua ($2,500,000)
