RESOLUTION NO. 2~'2
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the year 2006 marks the 100-year anniversary of the arrival of the first Filipino
immigrant workers, or Sakadas, to Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, a volunteer committee, the Hamakua Filipino Centennial Committee, has been
formed to handle the coordination of two specific events to help celebrate this momentous occasion;
and
WHEREAS, these two events aze a Filipino Musical Review to be held April 28, 2006
from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Honoka`a People's Theater and a Hamakua Barrio Fiesta,
which will be held Apri129, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Hawaii County Honoka`a
Gym-Recreation Complex; and
WHEREAS, the Hamakua Filipino Centennial Committee, via the Big Island Filipino
Community Council, has requested funding assistance in the amount of $3,000.00 for these
specific program events; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Reseazch and Development has concurred that it will
accept the transfer of these monies for that express purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

~E IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to
make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
