Dear Chairman Higa and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Ms. Kendall D. Sharpless of Council District 6 to the
County of Hawaii Board of Ethics. Ms. Sharpless is a six-year resident of
Hawaii who is a retired registered nurse. From 1976 to 2003, Ms. Sharpless
was employed by Maui Memorial and Kula Hospitals. Prior to that, she worked at
the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu.
Ms. Sharpless is currently a clerical volunteer with the Big Island Tobacco-Free
Partnership, the Friends of Hawaii Volcano National Park and the Hawaii
County Resource Center. She states that she is not affiliated with any political
party. if confirmed, she will serve out the position vacated by Karl Kawahara,
and the term will expire on December 31, 2009.
