Dear Chairman Higa and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Claude S. Onizuka of Council District 7 to the
County of Hawaii Liquor Commission. Mr. Onizuka is a 56-year resident of
Hawaii. From 1989, he has been employed by American Savings Bank as an
Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager. He is the Chairman of the Astronaut
Ellison Onizuka Space Center, President of Kona Junior Golf, Director of the Big
Island Visitor's Bureau and a member of the Kona Crime Prevention Committee.
Mr. Onizuka states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed,
he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2010.
