Dear Chairman Higa and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate John M. Bertsch of Council District 8 to the County
of Hawaii Fire Commission. Mr. Bertsch is a 15-year resident of Hawaii.
Since 2003, he has been self-employed in construction management. From
1996 to 2003, he was employed by Construction Technology Pacific as
Vice President of Construction. He previously served on the Hawaii County
Police Commission from 2001 to 2005. Mr. Bertsch lists the American Cancer
Society, the lronman Triathlon and the Kona Traffic SafetylKona Community
Safety Lane as organizations that he is involved in.
Mr. Bertsch states that he is a Republican. If confirmed, he will serve a term to
expire on December 31, 2010.
