Subject: Animal Control Code Section Amendments

Please pass the Animal Control Code Amendments which permit animal control facilities to contract with the
County and address the many other changes in Chapter 4 that will allow police and animal control officers to
effectively with barking dogs, loose animals, lost animals, changes in licensing fees, impound fees.
This is a long awaited improvement in our County of Hawaii animal control procedures and it has had plenty of
community input.
I only wish to add that I am again disappointed that there is no way to offer video testimony from Pahoa. How sad
that our West Hawaii folds have this opportunity and it constantly eludes us here in Pahoa.
